A couple of ads for Fry’s Department store. Suitable for a magazine or in the subways! Fry’s is a real store. I think online only. I modified their logo to Department store instead of Electronics. I use stock images given to use in class and created a composition using contour drawings. Very few colors and content with a good composition can really make a big difference. These design choices makes it look simple yet complicated.

These are a few examples of a magazine/brochure that I made all in Adobe InDesign. This was a class assignment to help us practice with the software. It was a pretty fun project. I created and edited all the typography in Adobe Illustrator, then imported into Indesign. The article is acually based off of a real story I found online. I cant remember what website though, sorry. The images are from Stock Exchange a stock photography website. I wanted to print this with full bleed but wasn’t able to at the time. I probobly will soon or one day.

This is is me just playing with Photoshop. I was practicing how to use a bigger thicker dirtier brush.

This is a movie poster mock up I made for class. We had 1 hour to make a realistic movie poster using either illustrations or photography. I was looking through some stock photos and found these nice lips. I wanted something simple. Doing this, made me rely on the typography and layout of the poster. So, I came out with “the kiss of death.” it’s pretty silly especially since it’s supposed to be a horror movie. People say it looks like the “horror something picture show.” I don’t know what that is. I was born in 89.

I love how double page spreads in magazine are usually designed and laid out. This is my version that I redesigned. It’s pretty much a collage of images that I put together in Photoshop. I want it to look crazy yet organized and legible. I think I was successful. This is the second time i designed a magazine spread.

This is a poster I made advertising the New York Medieval Festival I used to go to once in a while. One of the assignments in class was to design a poster for an event that has or will happen. This was my choice. I had no freaking clue on what to do, as usual. So I asked my friend Atanas for an idea and he mentioned the festival. I went straight to my old sketchbook to check out drawing I have done about knights and armors and decided to do a digital painting of a Night all in Photoshop. Took about 2-3 hours.

This was a small animation I did using Photoshop but initially was supposed to be just the caricature of me that I made in Illustrator. This clip is about this character that is trying to take a picture of himself, but the camera cannot focus. The lack of effort made this short crappy. The caricature was something I thought would really be cool and funny and ended up looking really good as well. It would be great if I made like a series of caricatures of family or friends. Hmm, that sounds like a great idea! I think I might do that.

This is a digital painting i did in class for class.

Requiem for a Broom is a short film/commercial I made for Full Sail University. I am the actor, director, and editor and there are two friends of mine who helped me with the camera. The idea was to really show how Swiffer products make a difference compared to traditional cleaning products. So, I try to prove that in this film. I did not want to rely on anyone for acting or anything so I decided to do everything. The fact that I am the only “real” character in this film made it original and special. At least to me. The time I had to construct this short film was about a month. I had done pre production for this before anything. I did storyboards, several scripts, and so forth. The budget I had was…whatever I had in my pocket. I borrowed a few things: props, setting, etc. The editing was initially supposed to be done using Final Cut Pro but I didn’t have it at the time so I used iMovie, which wasn’t that bad. I was gonna do split screen and whatnot. The full recording time on the tape was over 2 hours of footage, and I had to cut everything down to 6 min. This piece was a great influence on me, I think. I had learned a lot. The most important is teamwork. Please feel free to check out the movie and comment it!
